Ken and his wife Doris moved to Botley in 1955 when he worked for an Oxford City Estate Agency responsible for the sales of the new housing being built on Elms Rise Estate in Botley by F. J. Minns & Co. Ltd. now Minns Estates.
His working career ended as Deputy District Valuer in the Valuation Office Agency in Marston Road, Oxford.
Ken was an active member of West Oxford Bowls Club for over 20 years, serving as President of Oxfordshire Bowling Association in 1985.
He was a member of Oxford Bach Choir and St. Peter & St. Paul, Botley church choir where he also practiced as a Lay Reader.
In later years as he began to suffer from Alzheimer’s, his active life had to be wound down when no longer able to drive.
